The illustration was drawn using pen and ink, by hand, and has then been digitally manipulated to come up with the final image. It features the town fountain, Midsteeple, St Michael's Church, Dock Park Bandstand, Burns Mausoleum, Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura, Greyfriars Church, Auld Brig, the Suspension Bridge, Caerlaverock Castle, and is finished with a little Robert Burns statue. The whole image has a backdrop of Criffel.
