A blank greetings card featuring a special skyline illustration of some of Liverpool's infamous Penny Lane's most iconic landmarks.
Great as a card for any Beatles fan, or as a card for someone moving to or from Liverpool. It could also make a lovely wedding or graduation card.
I drew this illustration by hand, using pen and ink, and then digitally manipulated to come up with the final image. It features the Penny Lane sign, A Slower Space, the Penny Lane Development Trust gates, the new Derby and Rathbone Halls, Dovedale Towers, Penny Lane Fish & Chips, Penny Lane Wine Bar, Tony Slavin's barbers, Sergeant Pepper's Bistro, the Magical Mystery Tour Bus, the old bank (on the corner of Smithdown Place), Tavern Company (on Smithdown Road) and St Barnabas Church.
I drew this image after moving house, to where I now live, very close to Penny Lane. After walking past these iconic landmarks every day - some of which are
immortalised in the song "Penny Lane", I thought I really needed to draw them. The list of landmarks was collated after asking local residents for their input - and it's worth bearing in mind that "Penny Lane" often refers to the local area, rather than that one street. I've tried to stick mostly to landmarks on Penny Lane, but there are a few buildings that are in the vicinity that I have chosen to include (well, I had to include a barbers and a bank, didn't I?!).
Size approx 148mm x 105mm; matt brown recycled envelope slightly larger.
Also available as a print and as wedding or party invites.
